A Birman is
a very special companion, for a pet and for showing. Just to hold
a Birman In your lap, or to curl up to at night is so relaxing.
Even the babies become a very important part of your life from the
minute they are born. Its exciting, just like Christmas they
are a true gift. As I write my policy page, I have my six-week old
baby blue girl jumping
and tackling my shoe. She is always where we are and ready to play.
We handle all
of our Birman babies from birth. This helps our kittens to be well
socialized and to have a good bonding relationship with people.
Our kittens are played with by us and our grandchildren. Part of
our playing activity is to train our babies to use their scratching
post. This is very important, as no kitten automatically knows what
a scratching post is for and it can be a very simple game with them.
You simply take their toys to the scratching post and run a toy
or even a show wand up and down their scratching post. They will
want to chase it and also stick their claws into the scratching
post while they are chasing their target. This has worked very well
for us.
We do not declaw
our cats or our kittens, nature has been altered enough. Our kittens
are placed between the ages of twelve to sixteen weeks of age. We
provide all kitten vaccinations and physicals by our veterinarian
and provide a health guarantee, a copy of all health records and
pedigree. We keep all of our Birmans indoors only. This is
the only true way to keep our
babies and adult Birmans out of harms way. Their safety and
health is our first and foremost
concern. We place our babies and retired adults to approved homes
only.
We want to do
our best, to make sure that our kittens and adults continue to receive
the same love and devotion that they are accustomed to, and it comes
from our hearts.
A copy of our
spay and neutering contract will be issued and signed with each
kitten upon adoption. Our kittens are examined and given all kitten
vaccinations by our Vet. A record of vaccines and our health guarantee
will be provided to new owners at the time of placement.
